The following table summarizes the design assumptions and information for the boilers in the base case snapshot (Pro 1) for the simulation. The refinery has three boilers. We do not flash the blowdown and do not recover the resulting steam.

The following table summarizes the design assumptions and information for the pressure headers in the base case snapshot (Pro 1).The refinery has three pressure headers. We import steam from several process units. We recover steam for process heating as condensate. We do not condense or recover other steam used by the process, which is called live steam.

The refinery has five steam turbines:

  • T1 is an extraction turbine that produces power. T1 uses HP steam, produces MP extraction, and exhausts to LP.

  • T2 is an extraction turbine that produces power. T2 uses HP steam, produces LP extraction, and produces an additional steam product that we condense.

  • T3 is an HP-to-MP backpressure turbine that produces power.

  • T4 is an MP-to-LP backpressure turbine that produces power.

  • T5 is an LP condensing turbine that drives a compressor.

The following table summarizes the design assumptions and information for the steam turbines in the base case snapshot (Pro 1). Values without parentheses indicate feeds and values within parentheses indicate products.
