We combine the fresh methanol feed with a recycled methanol stream from the end of the process and then vaporize the combined feed by using the E1 heat exchanger. We then use the effluent stream from the R1 reactor to pre-heat the feed stream prior to entering the reactor. The E3 heat exchanger condenses the reactor effluent stream as we feed it to the separation section of the process. The T1 Column separates the DME product from water and methanol. The T2 Column then dries the wet methanol stream and we pump the recovered methanol back to the beginning of the process. We send the recovered water, which contains less than 250 ppm of methanol, for treatment.
