Defaults

  • The AVEVA Real-Time System (RTS) service executables are accessed by the configured Log On As user.

You should ensure that the Log On As user can access the file path for the RtsServer.exe file associated with the RTS service.

You can use the Services app to identify this file path, which appears under Path to executable on the General tab of the service's properties window.

  • The service's Startup Type is set to Manual.

If you want the service to start automatically when the system restarts, you can use the Services app to change the Startup Type to Automatic.

  • The service's Recovery settings are set to Restart the Service.

These are reasonable defaults, but you can use the Services app to modify them if needed.

The Restart the Service setting ensures that the service restarts even if it fails or terminates prematurely for any reason.

  • When the RTS service is running, a different user on the same computer can use a different RTS installation to work in their own sandbox (RtsServer process) independent of the installed RTS service.
