Open RTS Console

You can open AVEVA Real-Time System (RTS) Console either in application mode or as a website. In both cases, RTS Console uses a web browser to display the application controls. However, in application mode, you don't see the usual address bar, menu bar, and other features. This gives you a streamlined user experience like an installed application.

Open RTS Console in application mode

1. After installing RTS, on the Windows Start menu, select AVEVA Process Simulation, AVEVA Process Simulation RTS Commandline tool.

   A command prompt with the RTS shell opens.

2. Start the RTS server by executing one of the rts commands.

   Depending on your configuration, you can do this by using the rts start or rts start --as-service command in the RTS command-line tool. See Command-line tool for AVEVA Real-Time System for more information.

3. On the Windows Start menu, select AVEVA Process Simulation > AVEVA Process Simulation RTS Console.

   The browser opens in application mode to the URL configured in the RunRTSWebUI.bat file.

   This batch file uses one of the supported browsers: Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. If neither supported browser is available, then the batch file uses the system default browser.

   We have designed the batch file to work with Edge and Chrome, so you may encounter issues if you don’t have one of these browsers installed. In this case, we recommend that you install Edge or Chrome, and then repeat step 3.

4. Follow the steps in the preceding procedure to start the RTS server.

5. Open your preferred browser.

6. Go to the URL for RTS Console (for example, <http://localhost:31813>).
