You can use the Windows Task Scheduler to configure the AVEVA Real-Time System (RTS) service (the RtsServer process) to restart periodically. The user account that will run the scheduled task must be able to start and stop the services. To Start, Stop, and Pause a service, users need the Read and the Stop, Start, and Pause permissions.
Restart the RTS service periodically
-
Open the Task Scheduler app.
-
In the Actions pane, select Create Task.
The Create Task dialog appears.
-
In the Name box, enter the name of the Task.
-
On the General tab, select Run whether user is logged on or not.
-
Select the Run with highest privileges checkbox.
Important: The Task needs elevated permissions to restart the service.
-
On the Triggers tab, select New.
The New Trigger dialog appears.
-
In the Begin the task list, ensure that On a schedule is selected.
-
In the Settings section, select Daily, and then set Recur every to 1 day.

Tip: You can select Browse to browse to and select the rts.exe file instead of entering in the file path.
-
In the Add arguments box, enter restart.
