AVEVA™ Process Simulation

Limitations of the eNRTL method

Although the electrolyte NRTL model from Chen has become the most widely used electrolyte model, there is a limited public database for parameters for systems that include two or more electrolyte components or a solvent mixture.

Currently, Electrolyte NRTL (eNRTL) fluids use the ELECTRL system data bank by default. Because AVEVA Thermodynamic Data Manager currently doesn't support electrolyte data banks, we recommend that you do not change this selection for your eNRTL fluids. If you want to use custom data banks of electrolyte interaction data, please contact AVEVA Process Simulation customer support for more information on how to do this.

The eNRTL method currently does not support vapor-liquid-liquid equilibrium (VLLE) phase calculations.
