You can add a curve chart background image to help you accurately replicate a predefined curve; for example, you could use the image included in the following procedure to replicate the points required for a typical cooling water pump.
Add a background image to the curve chart
-
Open the Curve Editor for the Curve Type.
-
Expand the Curves section.
-
Select Define Image in the curve chart pane.

-
Select Import image to fill the chart background
.
-
Select an image and select OK. The image appears in the curve chart.

-
Expand and move the blue box to encompass the area of the image that you want to appear as the background for the curve chart.
We recommend that you move the edges of the box so that they fall on grid lines in the image. This allows you to quickly define the minimum and maximum values for the axes.

-
In the boxes to the right of the curve chart and below the curve chart, enter the minimum and maximum values of the y-axis and x-axis, respectively. Unless you plan to enter scaled data for the curve, these values should be the same as the values from the background image.

-
Select Define Curve.
The selected image now appears as the curve chart background. You can add curve data points on top of the background.
