You can compare a snapshot to the current simulation values and configuration by using the controls available in the Snapshot Manager.
Compare a snapshot to the current simulation
-
Open the Snapshot Manager.
-
Select the snapshot that you want to compare to the current simulation.
-
Select Compare.
The Snapshot Comparison window appears.
If your snapshot was captured in a different simulation mode than the current simulation, a warning appears before the Snapshot Comparison window opens. You can choose to continue to the Snapshot Comparison window or cancel the comparison.
By default, the snapshot comparison shows differences in specified and unspecified values as well as specification status. It also shows differences where the parameters and variables are in the snapshot but are not in the current simulation.
-
(Optional) Clear the Specifications checkbox to hide any differences in variable specification status.
-
(Optional) Clear the Specified Values checkbox to hide any differences in specified variable values and parameter values.
-
(Optional) Select the Calculated Values checkbox to display all of the value differences for the calculated variables.
Showing the value differences for the calculated variables can help you compare cases where you need to address convergence failures, such as cases with different thermodynamic methods or cases where a single change to a solved simulation led to an infeasible simulation.
Selecting the Calculated Values checkbox can lead to a very long list of differences.
-
(Optional) Clear the Unmatched Items checkbox to hide any variables and parameters that are in the snapshot but not in the current simulation.
-
(Optional) In the Tolerance box, enter the acceptable relative difference between snapshot values and simulation values for the variables and real parameters to appear in the comparison table.
