You can update the following properties for an individual flowsheet variable in the Simulation Manager:
-
Display Unit of Measure (UOM)
-
Min value
-
Max value
Change a flowsheet variable's display UOM
-
In the Simulation Manager, expand the Main branch.
-
Select the flowsheet variable that you want to update its display UOM.
AVEVA Process Simulation highlights the flowsheet variable in the Simulation Manager.
-
Place your cursor over the right-side of the highlighted flowsheet variable.
A dropdown icon
appears next to the UOM.

-
Select the dropdown icon to display a list of UOMs, and then select a new display UOM for the flowsheet variable.
AVEVA Process Simulation updates the flowsheet variable to use the new display UOM. The flowsheet variable's existing min and max values adjust to the new display UOM accordingly.
Change a flowsheet variable's min value or max value
-
In the Simulation Manager, expand the Main branch.
-
Right-click the flowsheet variable that you want to update its min value or max value, and then select Variable Properties.
The flowsheet variable's properties dialog appears.

-
In Min or Max, update the existing values as you desire, and then press Enter.
AVEVA Process Simulation updates the flowsheet variable to use the new min and max values.
If the flowsheet variable does not have a value, you can enter a min value that is greater than the max value.
If the flowsheet variable has a value, an invalid badge appears next to the variable name if either of the following is present:
-
The min value is greater than the max value.
-
The flowsheet variable's value is out of the min and max range.
In the following example, the flowsheet variable Var1 has a value of 5, a min value of 10, and a max value of 1. The min value is greater than the max value. Therefore, an invalid badge appears next to Var1, and its min and max values must be updated.
