You can add a Model Type as a submodel of another Model Type. Submodels are beneficial as you can use them as building blocks to create larger and more complicated Model Types.
Add a submodel to a Model Type
-
Open the Model Editor for the Model Type.
-
Expand the Models section.
-
Do one of the following:
-
Drag a Model Type from the Model Library onto the Models section.
-
Select the
icon in the Models section.
-
-
Give the submodel a Description.
-
(Optional) In the Condition list, select the condition for which the submodel appears in a model instance.
If there is no selected Condition, the submodel is always available.
-
Enter the submodel Name.
-
In the Type list, select the Model Type that you want to use for the submodel (if you did not drag the Model Type from the Model Library in step 3).
If all of the model requirements have been satisfied, the model Status will change from red to green.
