Fluid Flow mode for the U5 example simulation

  • Last UpdatedSep 20, 2024

Fluid Flow mode determines the actual flow distribution by imposing a pressure balanced flow calculation.

Case FF 1

We specify the fire water supply temperature and pressure and the fire hydrant flows with values as mentioned in the tables in Process description for the U5 example simulation. We achieve the network pressure balance by removing MX1.Pslack and calculating the flow split for SP1. The FF 1 snapshot reflects this pressure and material balance solution.

Case FF 2

When the fire water supply pressure drops, all sinks must meet their minimum pressure. We model such a scenario by calculating the fire water supply pressure (SRC1.P) and specifying the pressure in SNK8 with the minimum pressure.
