AVEVA™ Process Simulation

Copy flowsheet equations between simulations

If you have a more than one simulation open, you can copy flowsheet equations from one simulation to another.

You should make sure that the target simulation (that is, the simulation that you want to copy the flowsheet equations into) contains the same model variables that you use in the formulas for the flowsheet equations. Otherwise, you must update the flowsheet equations to use model variables in the target simulation.

Copy flowsheet equations between simulations

  1. On the Canvas for the original simulation, select the flowsheet equations that you want to copy.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Press Ctrl+C.

    • Right-click the selection, and then select Copy.

  3. Switch to the target simulation.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Press Ctrl+V.

    • Right-click the Canvas for the target simulation, and then select Paste.

The copied flowsheet equations appear on the Canvas for the target simulation.

If the flowsheet equations include flowsheet parameters or flowsheet variables, the flowsheet parameters and flowsheet variables are also copied into the target simulation. If the target simulation already contained the specified flowsheet parameters and flowsheet variables, the software creates new flowsheet parameters and flowsheet variables and updates the formula for the copied flowsheet equations to use the new flowsheet parameters and flowsheet variables.

Tip: If you mistakenly copy a flowsheet equation into a simulation, deleting the flowsheet equation does not delete any flowsheet parameters or flowsheet variables that were copied along with the flowsheet equation. If you do not want the flowsheet parameters or flowsheet variables in your simulation, you must manually delete them from the Simulation Manager. See Delete a flowsheet parameter or flowsheet variable for more information.
