Use the list of components from a Fluid Type as enumerated parameter selections

You can use the CompList parameter from a Fluid Type to populate the value selections for an enumerated parameter. When you use the CompList parameter as one of the value selections in the Model Type, the list of available parameter values in the model instance includes all the components in the associated Fluid Type. This is useful for modifying the configurations of submodels or equations based on a selected component.

Before you can use the CompList parameter, you must first add a Fluid Type parameter to your Model Type. See Create a Model Type that uses multiple Fluid Types in a single model instance and Assign a default Fluid Type to a Model Type for more information.

If the Model Type includes more than one Fluid Type parameter, you can use only one CompList parameter to populate the value selections for an enumerated parameter. You cannot add more value selections to the enumerated parameter other than the CompList parameter.

Use a list of components as enumerated parameter selections

1. Open the Model Editor for the Model Type.

2. Expand the Parameters section.

3. If the Model Type does not include a Fluid Type parameter, create one. See Create a Model Type that uses multiple Fluid Types in a single model instance for more information.

4. If the enumerated parameter does not exist, create it. Otherwise, remove all other values from the enumerated parameter.

5. In the Values list for the enumerated parameter, enter <FTPar>.CompList, where FTPar is the name of the Fluid Type parameter, and then press Enter.
