There are several items to set in the GUI Settings tab relating to windows in Asset Strategy Optimization.

System options - GUI Settings
-
Quick FMECA
Enable Quick FMECA actions - This enables the function Quick FMECA.
Keep interval values (MTTF, Repair Time) during local tree-copying - With this option enabled, Asset Strategy Optimization will include Quick FMECA related interval data (MTTF and MTTR) during an FMECA tree copy.

Search settings
Default Value: There are two ways to search: in the whole FMECA scope, or within the scope of the selected object. This switch defines the default search method that the user will see when starting a new search
Direct Search edit: There are two ways to combine the search window with the FMECA screen as described below. This switch defines the default mode of these two combinations when a user starts a search:
-
Not selected: Double clicking an item in the search window will lookup the item in the FMECA screen, while expanding the FMECA tree to the corresponding position. For large systems, this may be a slow operation
-
Selected: With the Direct Search option active, double clicking an item in the search window will lookup the item in the FMECA screen, without showing the item in the FMECA tree. Only the item's fields will be displayed in the Property Grid, allowing the user to quickly lookup information of a search item. This operation is a fast alternative to option 1 above.

Risk matrix display options
It is possible to use a basic version of the risk matrix in which the risk numbers will not be displayed. If the "Show risk numbers" box is not checked the risk matrix will open on default without showing the risk numbers. Within the risk matrix there is also a check box called "Show risk numbers". This check box can be used to temporarily change the visibility of the risk numbers. However, when re-opening the risk matrix again the checkbox will be reset to the default value. This default value can be modified here in the GUI settings form. Set the check box as the default appearance of the Risk matrix, with or without risk numbers.

Media
This option may influence the way the Part object values are copied from the FM-library to the FMECA tree. When disabled all values of a Part template object in the FM-library will be copied over to the FMECA tree. Since the degradation mechanism of assets may differ based on the situation (e.g. based on the medium that flows through a pump, and the gasket material used), the MTTF value should be adjusted. By enabling the option Apply media MTTF correction, the MTTF value of the template Part object will be adjusted when copying it to the FMECA tree, according to a correction scheme in the media library. When the option Apply media effects is enabled, then the effect values used from the matrix will be influenced by the 'media values' used.
Refer to FM Library - using the media library for more information.
-
Labor
This option serves to enable the use of Labor data. To this end, at maintenance action level, within the properties screen a new tab is provided. By setting up personnel types, various cost placeholders can be assigned to a maintenance action, which each fall under a specific hourly tariff/wage. Some reports use these data and provide detailed information about Labor.
-
Validation rules
This enables the use of validation rules. Please refer to topic Set up Validation rules for more information.
-
Environmental impact
This option enables the Environmental impact tab that you can use to list the impact categories. The categories listed in this tab will be available in the Property Grid of all types of maintenance actions (FBM, CBM, CBM-F, UBM, FFT, FFT-F, CLM, UBM) to monitor their environmental impact. To know how to add the categories, see the topic Environmental impact.

Show Spare Part Analysis
You can use this option to display or hide the fields in the Spare part analysis section of the Property Grid. By default, all the fields are hidden other than the Linked spares field.
The fields in the Spare part analysis section display data such as, 'About', 'Total Delivery Time', and 'Total Delivery Time (effective)' from the FMECA and FM-Library. If you do not wish to view this data, you can load the Property Grid more quickly by hiding these fields. Note that hiding the fields does not affect the functionality of spare part optimization.
If you want :
-
To display the fields in the Spare part analysis section of the Property Grid for FMECA or FM-Library, select the required checkbox.
-
To hide the fields in the Spare part analysis section of the Property grid, clear the checkbox.
