Effect of Media value on MTTF - MTTF Correction

The following example shows how during a merge operation the MTTF value will be corrected. If you are not familiar with the merge operation, then first consult the single Merge copy operation explanation.

On the left of the screenshot, the Library shows two failure causes, conveniently named 'Failure cause without MTTF Correction' and 'Failure cause with MTTF Correction' for the sake of the explanation. The properties for these objects are shown as cropped overlays in the screenshot below. The first failure cause has the option 'Apply MTTF Correction' enabled (1), while the second failure cause has not (2). Both failure causes are related to the part called ´Media FM Part´. In the example, this part will be merged with the part called ’Media FMECA Part’ in the Asset tree (4). To prepare for this, the part´s field called Media has been filled with the combination Ammonia-NBR (3).
