Stock Management in Asset Strategy Optimization

With this module you can create spare parts and link them to objects in FMECA systems. On the basis of various analyses the module can also recommend taking these objects in stock or not.

The Stock Module comprises the following functions:

  • Spare Objects Management

The internal list of Spare Objects can be managed in the following ways:

    • Manually, using the  Spare Objects Management window; this is the basis of the stock module. In this window you can manually create spare parts and  link them to parts and/or components.

    • Import spares, using a specific supplied Excel template. This allows the user to gather spare information from different sources and importing it into Asset Strategy Optimization.

    • Export/Import assets, including spares. With this powerful function, the user may first export a scope of assets together with already linked spares. Then, the user can modify the spreadsheet and import the result back into Asset Strategy Optimization. This allows for easy management of large sets of data

  • Stock analysis

The stock analysis has two basic functions:

    • Criticality: what is the influence of stocking parts on the criticality of certain failure modes? This analysis will yield a list of spare parts and a recommendation for each part whether or not actually stocking them will reduce criticality in terms of reduced down time costs.

    • Economical: this analysis will answer the question whether or not stocking an item is sensible in terms of economic reasons. A number of overviews will indicate whether or not stock items of a certain scope should be taken on stock, how many should be ordered, and when they should best be ordered.

  • Stock Candidates

The Stock Candidates Report provides a list of parts and components that qualify for taking into stock. Using a window for setting parameters you can decide yourself which objects should be displayed in the report. You can use the Stock Candidates report as a basis for determining which objects qualify for taking into stock.

  • Stock Recommendation

The Stock Recommendation provides a list of all spare parts. The properties of the spare parts  are displayed for each spare part, with a list of linked parts and/or components. You can use this list to request a recommendation about the spare part based on downtime and costs.

  • Working with linked spares

Maintaining spares is often already done in external systems. To easily reuse that existing information in Asset Strategy Optimization, the user may import that information from an Excel file. It is even possible to already link a spare to assets by setting up an Excel file in a specific format.

Use the function Export assets including spares to generate the Excel file. Then add the spare information obtained elsewhere.

Use the function Import linked spares to import the total structure into Asset Strategy Optimization.
