When setting up a FMECA tree the situation may arise that new objects are defined that have been (partly) defined in a similar way elsewhere. The risk data defined in other places could be readily reused to define this new object.

For this, Asset Strategy Optimization supports the reuse of data, by allowing the user to copy the risk data of (parts of) existing systems to new systems.

Copying risk data is done as follows:

  1. Select a FMECA folder in the FMECA-tree on the left side of the screen

  2. Create a new FMECA System here

  3. Click the the Edit button in the Property Grid, or:
Double-click the FMECA system to open the Properties screen and click the tab Copy risk data.

Properties of the System - tab General with button Copy risk data

    The following screen appears:

Properties screen for System, showing tab Copy risk data

  4. Now, open the list Copy risk data from, and choose one of the available FMECA systems present in the FMECA tree.

  5. Click the button Copy risk data to reuse the risk data from the selected FMECA system.

  6. If desired make changes to the copied data, remove objects or add new ones.
