Performing an FMECA in Asset Strategy Optimization is done by following a seven steps plan. The 7 steps essentially define the bottom-up approach (full) FMECA. These steps are explained here in a theoretical way, step by step. At the end of each step a reference is made to the topics that explain how these steps can be executed in the web interface of Asset Strategy Optimization.

Most actions will be performed in the tree view, while many also apply to the Library. Where there is a clear difference between the two functions, this will be made explicit.
This FMECA introduction only scratches the surface of the vast world behind FMECA.
Tip: If you wish to practice with the steps, and you have not already done so as part of the Build the first asset hierarchy – quick start chapter, then first side-step to that chapter to learn how to set up your first asset structure.
