Stock Analysis (Criticality)

Stocking items means availability will become high, and risk of downtime can be decreased. This is one way to reduce criticality to an acceptable level. The Stock analysis function gives an overview of those elements that, when stocked, would cause criticality to change to an acceptable level (red to green in the risk matrix). Moreover, it will indicate what the current effect on criticality is for already stocked items. If the main reason for stocking those parts had been to reduce criticality, then the analysis may show the actual effect. E.g. a 'no or little effect' situation could lead to no longer stocking the part (provided there was no other reason for stocking it in the first place).
How the analysis works
Based on a selected scope in the FMECA tree, the user may display an overview of all assets, related to possibly linked stock objects. The overview allows for an analysis on the effect actual stocking of stock items would have on the criticality. This may help the maintenance engineer to build a combined strategy of using both PM and spare part management to mitigate risks.
