AVEVA ™ Asset Strategy Optimization

CLM (Clustered Maintenance)

  • Last UpdatedJun 20, 2025

Asset Strategy Optimization can be used to group together individual maintenance actions to create a combined maintenance action, with all the related benefits of synergy (costs and lead-time). A combined maintenance action such as this is called a CLM in Asset Strategy Optimization. A CLM can be created in FMECA systems and Simulation Models. This is not possible in the FM library given the fact that a CLM is specific system data.

A CLM in Asset Strategy Optimization is a combination of maintenance actions already entered for one or more parts carried out on a regular basis. In other words, they are UBM and CBM (inspection) actions implemented at a specific frequency. No FBM or CBM maintenance (follow-up) actions may be included in a CLM.

Note: To ensure synergy benefits, the characteristic maintenance data such as costs and lead-time must be entered for the CLM itself. Costs, lead-time, etc. are applicable for all the maintenance actions included.

Tabs

The data for CLM can be edited in the Property Grid, or the Property Screen, which contains several tabs. Each tab will be explained separately in the following topics. Some tabs are identical for the various types of maintenance, so images used in the explanation may be reused.

Property Grid

All information entered in the Properties screen, can also be entered directly into the Property Grid. The meaning of the fields will be explained per tab of the Properties Screen in the following topics, which correspond to the sections in the Property Grid. The function of the fields is identical.
