To download the built-in template that you can use to define your import asset tree
-
Make sure you have a Microsoft Excel file ready to import, that complies to the template format. If not, first download a template and populate it with the assets you want to import.
-
Choose a system or subsystem (serial or parallel) in the tree to import the objects to.
-
Open the context menu by right clicking the chosen system.

-
Choose Asset Import in the context menu (this option will be disabled if you do not have write permissions for that object. In that case, contact a user with administrator rights to request permission if desired).

A pop-up panel will appear that is meant to guide you through the import process. It also has an option to download a template.
-
Click Download template to download a Microsoft Excel file holding that template. It will be downloaded to your usual download location on your local machine.
-
Open the Microsoft Excel file and study the format. It is recommended to use the Save as option to create a fresh version from which to start populating the file to be imported to Asset Strategy Optimization. Read on to learn more about the template data structure.
