Update the database for Asset Strategy Optimization

The existing Asset Strategy Optimization or Optimizer+ database(s) need to be updated. This is done using the Database Update Tool.

To start the database update tool

1. Navigate and activate Start > Asset Strategy Optimization > Database Update Tool.

   

   The Database Update Tool application will start.

   

The next step is to update the database.

To update your database

2. Enter a valid server address:
   Fill in the path to the SQL server instance in which the database Asset Strategy Optimization running in field 'SQL Server instance’.

3. Select the authentication type.

4. Select a valid database.
   If all previous steps have been completed correctly (a valid server address which can be accessed using the selected authentication type), you can specify the proper Asset Strategy Optimization database in the drop-down box next to the Database field. If there is no database, check the connection settings as described in the previous steps.

5. Indicate whether you have a backup.
   If you created a back-up according to the instructions described in the section Create a backup of the current database, you can tick the checkbox. If you did not make a backup yet, make a database backup now.

   Note: Always check whether an update of the above database is desired. We strongly recommend that you make a backup before moving on to updating a database. Reversing a database update is not possible.

6. Click Update.
   The database is now updated to the latest version.

7. Optional: Reset PK list.

   Note: Advanced users only. Do not select this option if you are using the auditing feature of Asset Strategy Optimization.

8. Finish by selecting the the cross () button.
