Asset Strategy Optimization is delivered with a default set of widgets. The dashboard designer can choose which widgets to place on the Dashboard by default. See Set up the default dashboard.
Each of the default widgets are described below.
The default list to choose from is:
|
Widget |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Critical Failure causes Effect 1 |
Indicates the total of critical failure causes found in the scope for Business Objective 1 (instead of 'effect 1', the actual Business Objective will be filled in, or empty) |
|
Critical Failure causes Effect 2 |
Indicates the total of critical failure causes found in the scope for Business Objective 2 (instead of 'effect 1', the actual Business Objective will be filled in, or empty) |
|
Critical Failure causes Effect 3 |
Indicates the total of critical failure causes found in the scope for Business Objective 3 (instead of 'effect 1', the actual Business Objective will be filled in, or empty) |
|
Critical Failure causes Effect 4 |
Indicates the total of critical failure causes found in the scope for Business Objective 4 (instead of 'effect 1', the actual Business Objective will be filled in, or empty) |
|
Critical Failure causes Effect 5 |
Indicates the total of critical failure causes found in the scope for Business Objective 5 (instead of 'effect 1', the actual Business Objective will be filled in, or empty) |
|
Critical Failure causes Effect 6 |
Indicates the total of critical failure causes found in the scope for Business Objective 6 (instead of 'effect 1', the actual Business Objective will be filled in, or empty) |
|
System MTTF Breakdown |
Shows a breakdown of how many times certain values of MTTFs occur in the scope |
|
FMECA Critical Assets |
Shows how many assets were found to be critical, and not critical. Assets that do not have ANY criticality data added to them, are identified as 'not analyzed' |
|
FMECA Critical Failure Causes |
Shows how many failure causes were found to be critical, and not critical. Failure causes that do not have ANY criticality data added to them, are identified as 'not analyzed' |
|
Estimated Annual Maint Cost |
Shows per maintenance action type the expected annual costs. The first column indicates costs without PM, the second, cost for remaining FBMs without PM |
|
Maintenance Strategies |
Shows a breakdown of the number of FBMs, and the PM actions in place that should mitigate the risks. Ideally, the #FBM's should roughly equal the sum of the rest |
|
Maintenance Types |
Shows a breakdown of the maintenance types that are present in the current scope |
|
QFMECA Critical Top Level Failure modes |
Shows which subsystems are assessed as critical/non-critical based on an QFMECA. The scope is the level chosen plus one level of sub-systems deeper in the hierarchy. |
|
QFMECA Critical Failure modes |
Shows which subsystems are assessed as critical/non-critical based on an QFMECA. The scope is the level chosen plus all of the levels of sub-systems deeper in the hierarchy. |
|
System Object Counts |
Shows all objects used and the number of occurrences of each object |
Critical Failure causes effect 1 to 6
Asset Strategy Optimization supports a maximum of Business Objectives per FMECA model. For each Business Objective, there is a widget showing how many critical failure causes were found in the given scope for the given Business Objective as a result of doing an FMECA. As the Business Objectives can be named differently for each model, they are numbered 1 to 6 here. In reality, the actual name of the Business Objective is displayed. If the Business Objective is not in use, then the widget will display 'Critical failure causes'.
To find the assets behind the values, simply double-click the number or the area, to open an overview, and optionally press F9 to find a specific Asset in the FMECA tree.
In the example below, three different values are indicated:
-
Critical failure causes - these are the number of failure causes that were found to be critical for the given scope, based on Business Objective number 1.
-
Non-critical failure causes - these are the number of failure causes that were found to be not critical for the given scope, based on Business Objective number 1.
-
Not analyzed - These are the number of failure causes that do not yet have any failure data attached to them (in the FMECA Grid).
Important: A failure cause is marked as Not analyzed only if not any value was added. As soon as one value is added, it will be considered critical or non-critical, based on the values known.

FMECA Critical Assets
This widget shows the critical assets within the chosen scope. An assets is considered critical if for any of the Business Objectives, the asset was considered to be critical. Non-critical otherwise. There are three possible values:
-
Critical assets- these are the number of assets that were found to be critical for the given scope, for any of the Business Objectives
-
Non critical assets - these are the number of assets that were found to be not critical for the given scope, for any of the Business Objectives
-
Not analyzed - These are the number of assets that do not yet have any failure data attached to them (in the FMECA Grid).
To find the assets behind the values, simply double-click the number or the area, to open an overview, and optionally press F9 to find a specific Asset (Parts in this case) in the FMECA tree.

System MTTF Breakdown
This widget shows a breakdown of the MTTF values used in the given scope. The numbers shown are the number of times a certain MTTF is found in the scope. The overview quickly shows the variation in probability present in the scope. Extremities are immediately apparent. To find the assets behind the values, simply double-click the number, to open an overview, and optionally press F9 to find a specific Asset in the FMECA tree.

Estimated annual maintenance cost
This widget indicates the estimated annual maintenance cost for the chosen scope. Depending on the type of maintenance action, Asset Strategy Optimization calculates the costs indicated and displays the value on an annual basis. The first column indicates costs of all FBMs, in the case no preventive maintenance were in place. The second column indicates the cost for all FBMs remaining after adding PM actions. Click any of the bars to see a detailed table. Numbers shown there are either hours or cost values. Optionally press F9 to find a specific object in the FMECA tree.
Column CBMFollows, is an estimation. Based on the MTTF, it is assumed that failure will take place at MTTF (no lead time is included in the equation). The costs indicated for the follow up activity is averaged over a year.

Maintenance strategies
This widget indicates the different maintenance strategies applied in the scope.
The user may compare the number of FBMs against UBMs and CBMs.

Maintenance types
This widget indicates the different types of maintenance actions applied in the scope.
The user may compare the number of FBMs against the other types.

QFMECA Critical Top Level Failure modes
This widget should be applied on a scope that was subject to a Quick FMECA. As large models may have many sub-levels of systems, this widget provides an indication of the top level in the scope and the level below it. Not analyzed in this context means no information was added for a system in the QFMECA grid.

QFMECA Critical Failure modes
This widget should be applied on a scope that was subject to a Quick FMECA. Large models may have many sub-levels of systems. This widget provides an indication of all the system levels in the scope. Not analyzed in this context means no information was added for a system in the QFMECA grid.

System Object Counts
This widget shows the number of different objects that are part of the current scope. It gives in indication of the complexity and size of the scope.
To find the assets behind the values, simply double-click the number, to open an overview, and optionally press F9 to find a specific Asset in the FMECA tree.
