Deactivate the Property Grid

The Property Grid is activated by default when Asset Strategy Optimization is installed. It is a convenient alternative to the existing functionality of the Property screen. It competes with the scenario-screen in terms of screen space. When the Property Grid is active, the Scenario screen cannot be, and vice versa. To know more about the Property Grid and screen, see the topic Property Grid and Properties Screen.

Users or organizations who prefer to use the Property screen over the Property Grid, may disable the Property Grid altogether. In a multi-user installation of Asset Strategy Optimization this preference will count for all users.

Disabling or enabling the Property Grid is managed in the configuration file of Asset Strategy Optimization. To disable the Property Grid, the application administrator needs to follow the steps below:

  1. First make sure Asset Strategy Optimization is not running

  2. Open the configuration file Asset Strategy Optimization.exe.Config in the installation folder of Asset Strategy Optimization. The default location of this file is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Asset Strategy Optimization

  3. In the line  <add key="ShowPropertyGrid" value="true" /> replace value 'true'  with 'false'

  4. With sufficient permissions, the application administrator may save the changes

  5. After restarting Asset Strategy Optimization, the Property Grid will no longer be present. Instead, the Scenario screen will be permanently displayed.

Note: The Property Grid can be re-enabled at any time by replacing the  'false'  back to 'true'.
