AVEVA ™ Asset Strategy Optimization

Export assets including spares

  • Last UpdatedAug 19, 2025
  • 2 minute read

This function can be used to show an overview in Excel of all spares linked to a chosen scope.

The function itself acts on a chosen scope in the FMECA tree. The exported Excel file has a specific format, consisting of two work sheets. The first work sheet Assets with spare links describes all the assets in the scope and the (possible) links to spare objects. The details of each spare object can be found in the second work sheet Spare Objects. The two work sheets are linked using the column called spa_id in both work sheets.

One application of this function is to create a starting point for importing an asset structure with added linked spares. In this way the user has access to a ready-to-use Excel template.

The second work sheet defines the details of each of the spare objects. The user can change this detailed information here.

Note: Not all information included here will be used to update Asset Strategy Optimization. A number of columns are included just for reference purposes. Changes to information in these columns will therefore not be reflected in Asset Strategy Optimization.

To export a selected scope with linked spares, perform the following steps:

  1. Select a scope that contains at least one linked spare object

  2. Start the function Stock management > Export assets incl. spares

  3. Perform the actions shown in the wizard

After completion of the wizard, an Excel file will be available that can be used as a template for import.
