FMECA level settings Cost Categories

  • Last UpdatedMay 21, 2025
  • 2 minute read

The first tab of the FMECA-level settings is displayed by default: Cost Categories. Without specific FMECA-level settings, the application wide cost categories will be used for an FMECA System. Read more about how to set application wide Cost Categories.

When the tick mark 'FMECA-level settings' is activated, Asset Strategy Optimization will switch to specifying Cost Categories which only count for the selected FMECA System. It will first check whether application wide Cost Categories are already in use. If so, a warning will be given, telling the user that these values will be overwritten when the user chooses to continue. By confirming the message, Asset Strategy Optimization continues by ignoring the application wide Cost Categories for the select FMECA System from that point onwards and creating a new empty set of Cost Categories, which the user may fill.

The user-defined Cost Categories are used while specifying the Employee Types (tab Employee Type). Here, you define functions and rates linked to a Cost Category. If you use this function it is important to define at least one Cost Category that can be referenced to from the tab 'Employee type'.
