To show the risk matrix for a scope in the tree
-
Make sure a valid scope is selected:
-
In the tree, choose any object that is a part or higher (but no folder).
-
Use the scope in a grid view, or change the existing a scope by clicking the breadcrumb.
-
-
From the main menu, choose Risk matrix.
The Risk matrix screen appears, showing the risk matrix for the first business objective (shown on the left of the screen).
A donut graph represents visually the total number of failure causes in scope (shown under the risk matrix) that are critical (red), non-critical (green), or have not yet been analyzed (gray). -
Change matrix by selecting another business objective to the left of the screen.
Here is an example of a risk matrix. The picture shows two business objectives (Downtime, currently shown, and Safety). The horizontal axis shows the Mean Time to Failure categorization that indicates probability, while the vertical axis shows the effect failure would have on, in this example, Downtime. The cells show numbers indicating how many of the failure causes currently correspond with the values for that cell in both axes.

The cells can be green or red. Green cells indicate that any failure causes that fall in that cell represent an acceptable risk, while red cells represent the failure causes for which the company will not accept the risk and will want to mitigate.
The totals are represented in the colored circle below the risk matrix. The grey circle indicates the number of failure causes that have no consequence value filled for this business objective yet.
