When applying the function Apply FM library templates, and during a merge operation of a part from the FM library to the FMECA tree, Part properties will be copied from the source Part to the target Part. Which properties will be copied and which will be retained can be set in an option screen called Part merge field settings.

System defaults - Default values for lookup lists
Settings
To open the screen Part merge field settings perform these steps:
-
Navigate to Extra > Options > System defaults.
-
Open the tab Part merge field settings.
-
Select the fields that should be copied during the merge operation, or deselect fields that should not be copied.
-
Save the settings by pressing the Apply or OK buttons.
The now set properties will be copied from the FM library part to the FMECA tree part in the following situations:
-
The user drags a Part in the FM library onto an existing Part in the FMECA tree (merge)
-
The user uses the function Apply the FM Library templates
Tip: A best practice is to deselect the fields Name and Tag in the Part merge field settings, so they will not be copied. Usually these are model specific and should be retained.
