Mass mutation of time unit

Mass mutations allow you to modify the time unit of an object Mass mutation.

To mass mutate the time unit without the value itself, perform the following steps:

  1. In the Mass Mutation window, enter the value +0

  2. Then the desired time unit

The value of the objects found will remain the same, but their time unit will be changed to entered value.

Example:

  1. An MTTF is set at 1 year.

  2. Mass mutation is used to specify + 0 Months. (absolute)

  3. Final result: MTTF: 12 months

Note: This value won't work if the final result represents an unacceptably small number.

    Example of unacceptably small number

    1. MTTR is set at 1 hour

    2. Mass mutation is used to specify +0 Months (absolute)

    3. When you open the maintenance action, the repair time will still be 1 hour. This is because 1 hour expressed in months (1/730) gives a number that is too small to display.
