Tree structure

The last tab lets the user define how the tree structure of the FMECA tree or FM Library is presented.

System options - Tree structure

The tab Tree structure contains three sections:

• Options for Dragging

• Tree Structure Display Options for Assets

• Tree Structure Display Options for Maintenance

Each of these are described in detail below.

Options for Dragging

The option to drag objects inside of the FMECA tree or between the FMECA tree and the FM Library makes editing easy, the drawback being that the user may move objects by mistake. For this reason Asset Strategy Optimization allows the user to change dragging behavior.

To change the dragging behavior of Asset Strategy Optimization, do the following:

1. Open the Option screen by choosing  Extra > Options > System options

2. Open tab Tree structure

3. Choose one of the following options:

   • No dragging - Dragging is not possible at all

   • Drag and Confirm - After each drag operation Asset Strategy Optimization will ask to confirm the action

   • Free Dragging - Each drag operation will be executed without confirmation

Tree structure Display Options for Assets

The option Display Tags in tree Structure controls whether or not the Tag field value is also displayed in the tree for objects with a Tag field. If active, the Tag Display field dictates the position of the Tag field value ([Tag][Object Name], or [Object Name][Tag]).

The option Sort by defines the way the items in the tree will be ordered. The user may choose between Name or Tag, or No Sorting.

Important: When importing data: in case the option Display tags in tree Structure has been disabled, tag information available during an import action from Excel will be ignored! The corresponding Tag values will be kept empty (NULL value).

Tree structure Display Options for Maintenance

The option Display Number in Tree Structure controls whether or not the Number field is also displayed in the tree in case maintenance objects. If active, the Number Display field dictates the position of the Number field value ([Number][Object Name], or [Object Name][Number]).

The option Sort by defines the way the items in the tree will be ordered. The user may choose between Name or Number, or No Sorting.

Use Tags in Library

This option allows the user to also apply the above settings to the FM library.
