The Component in Asset Strategy Optimization is the object to which one or more failure causes are linked. If a failure occurs in a part, this must be reduced to one or more component(s) of the part in question. In Asset Strategy Optimization, the component is the object that fails, in turn affecting the function of the part.
For a Component, the only object that can be linked is the Failure Cause.
Definition of Components
Because components are dependent on one part, when defining the part it is necessary to also define which object can be considered as a component. The component is an object at the lowest possible level at which maintenance can be carried out.
