The FlexGrid can contain many columns, which may not always fit on the screen. Often the first columns are used as reference for the information in other columns. This reference is lost if the user scrolls to the right to display the other columns.
By 'freezing' the left most columns the user can scroll to the right, while maintaining the first columns as reference information.

The button 'freeze columns'
To freeze a number of columns in the FlexGrid, follow these steps:
-
Select a field in the column that you wish to be the border between frozen and non-frozen columns
-
Click the button Freeze columns
-
All columns to the left of the selected column, including the selected column itself, will now remain in place when using the horizontal scroll bar to move other columns into view
-
To free the frozen columns, press the button Freeze columns again.
-
To use a different set of frozen columns, first free the frozen columns, then select a new 'border' column, and freeze the columns again, applying the steps above.
Tip: Freezing columns does not seem to work? Perhaps you tried to select a column by clicking the column head, instead of a field in a column. Select any field in the desired column and press the button Freeze columns.
