Multiple spare parts can be linked to a Part or Component. There are two ways to link Parts/Components to a spare part:
-
From within the Spare Objects Management screen
-
From the Property Grid, at the level of the object that must be linked (Part or Component)
Both ways are explained below.
Linking from the Spare Objects Management screen
Linking parts/components to a spare part is done as follows:
-
Open the Spare Objects Management window as described Spare Objects Management.
-
Select a spare part on the left side of the window.
-
At the right side of the window, click "Add".
The search window will now appear.
Follow the usual search routine to find parts and components that can be linked to the selected spare part. -
Enter search criteria and click "Search now"
-
Select the found objects you wish to use (multi-select using Ctrl-left mouse click or Shift-left mouse click).
-
Click "Link"
After completing a link, you will return to the Spare Objects Management. All objects linked to the selected spare part will be displayed immediately.
Choosing the scope for showing linked objects
The window on the right shows which objects are already linked to the spare part selected on the left. By default, this list shows only the objects in the current scope (as selected in the FMECA tree). You may choose to enlarge the scope to All FMECA Systems, to show linked objects throughout Asset Strategy Optimization. In this way you quickly gain an overview of which objects are already linked.
Linking from the Property Grid
To link one or more spare parts to a Part or Component in the FMECA tree or FM Library, do the following:
-
Select a Part or Component in the FMECA tree or FM Library
-
In the Property Grid, press the button Edit linked spare objects
-
In the dialog screen, find suitable spare parts by typing in a search text (at least a space character) in the filter field at the bottom of the window and clicking the button Edit linked spare objects
-
Then select one or more of the search results at the bottom of the screen (multi-select using Ctrl-left mouse click or Shift-left mouse click)
-
Link the selected spare parts by clicking the button Link ; alternatively, double click a spare part to automatically show it to the upper section
-
The linked spare parts will now also show in the upper section of the window
-
Obsolete spare parts can be unlinked by selecting them in the upper section of the window and clicking the button Unlink
-
Using the button Edit you can show the details of a linked spare part which can be edited and saved.
