ASO Dlynk interface links Asset Strategy Optimization to the third-party EAM systems. To integrate Asset Strategy Optimization with other EAM systems by using the Web APIs, see the AVEVA Asset Strategy Optimization Web API Help.
This interface supports the following services:
-
Configuration of the Interface
-
Importing Assets from ASO Dlynk
-
Import Preventive Maintenance
-
Export Preventive Maintenance
Note:
- To connect ASO Dlynk with a third-party interface using the TCP or WCP protocol, you must provide specific ports in the Asset Strategy Optimization.exe.config file.
- After the installation, the ASO Dlynk option appears disabled by default. To enable it, set the value of ASODLYNKINTERFACE under the custom module to 'True' in the configuration file.
Configuration of the Interface
To use Asset Strategy Optimization with the interface, perform the following steps:
-
Open the menu Interfaces > ASO Dlynk > Configuration.
-
Fill in the following values:

-
Service URI: The URL to the interface Web services.
-
User name: The user name that has been configured for the interface Web services.
-
Password: The password that has been configured for the interface Web services.
-
-
Select OK to save the configuration settings.
-
Select the System node, right-click and select Properties.
-
Configure the Tenant ID for the ASO Dlynk interface in the Property Grid.
This Tenant ID must match the Tenant ID of the third-party EAM. The Tenant ID is required for importing or exporting assets and Preventive Maintenances.
Importing Assets
When you import assets or preventive maintenances, the Asset Strategy Optimization data is validated against the EAM data and the assets are updated (add, edit, delete, or move) accordingly in Asset Strategy Optimization.
To import assets into Asset Strategy Optimization, perform the following steps:
Before you Begin:
-
Make sure that the Tenant ID for the ASO Dlynk is configured correctly.
Steps:
-
In the Asset Strategy Optimization, select the Subsystem or Part node to where you want to import the assets.
-
Open the menu Interfaces>ASO Dlynk>Import asset to start the import wizard.
The wizard appears, displaying the tag Identifier (Code) of the Subsystem or Part node that you have selected in step 1.
-
Select Next to start the import.
Asset Strategy Optimization contacts the ASO Dlynk server and shows the progress of the import. At the first time, the interface may take a while to respond. When the link is established, all the assets to be imported will be listed on the wizard.
-
Select Run import to start the import.
Note: If you want to import only few assets, then select the checkbox provided next to the asset name and select Run import.
When all the assets are imported, the Asset Strategy Optimization displays a success message.
-
Select Finish to see the result of the import in the FMECA tree.
Importing Preventive Maintenance
The Preventive Maintenance option is available only for the Subsystem and Part nodes in the hierarchical tree. You can import the following types of maintenances from the interface platform.
-
CLM (Clustered Maintenance)
-
UBM (Use Based Maintenance)
-
CBM (Condition Based Maintenance)
-
FFT (Failure Finding Task)
To import Preventive Maintenance into Asset Strategy Optimization, perform the following steps:
Before you Begin:
-
Make sure that the Tenant ID for the ASO Dlynk is configured correctly.
Steps:
-
In the Asset Strategy Optimization, select the Subsystem or Part node to where you wish to import the maintenance.
-
Open the menu Interfaces>ASO Dlynk>Import Preventive Maintenance to start the import wizard.
The wizard displays the tag Identifier (Code) of the Subsystem or Part node that you have selected in step 1.
-
Select Next to start the import.
Asset Strategy Optimization contacts the Interface server and shows the progress of the import. When the link is established, all the items to be imported will be listed on the screen.
-
Select the part number from the Parent Identification column and then select Run import to start the import.
When the items are imported to Asset Strategy Optimization, it displays a success message on the screen.
-
Click Finish to see the results of the import in the FMECA tree.
After the import is complete, the items appear listed in the Asset Strategy Optimization. You can expand the Subsystem to view the items that are imported. In the hierarchy:
-
For maintenance type as ‘CLM’:
-
Preventive Maintenance that are not linked to any parent Part, appear listed under the Subsystem.
-
Preventive Maintenance that are linked to parent Part, appear listed under the parent Part.
-
If the Part ID of the Preventive Maintenance is not available in the Asset Strategy Optimization, then the CLM will not be imported.
-
-
For maintenance type as ‘UBM’, ‘CBM’, and ‘FFT’:
-
Preventive Maintenance appears under the following location: Subsystem>Part> (dummy) Component>(dummy)Failure Cause.
Note: On importing the Preventive Maintenances, a dummy Component and Failure Cause is created by default to maintain the hierarchical structure in the Asset Strategy Optimization.
-
-
Exporting Preventive Maintenance
You can export only the Preventive Maintenance of type ‘CLM (Clustered Maintenance)’ from the Asset Strategy Optimization to the interface platform. The Preventive Maintenance option is available only for the Subsystem and Part nodes in the hierarchical tree.
Before you Begin:
-
Make sure that the Tenant ID for the ASO Dlynk is configured correctly.
Steps:
To export the Preventive Maintenance to the interface, perform the following steps:
-
In the Asset Strategy Optimization, select the Subsystem or Part node from where you wish to export the maintenance.
-
To start the export wizard, select Interfaces > ASO Dlynk > Export Preventive Maintenance.
The export wizard appears, displaying the list of preventive maintenance actions that are selected for the export.
-
To exclude one or more maintenance actions from the export list, clear the checkbox provided for the preventive maintenance.
-
Select Export to send the selected preventive maintenance actions to the interface.
When the export is complete, the Result column displays the value Inserted for new maintenance actions or Updated for existing maintenance actions in the interface platform.
-
Select Finish to close the wizard.
