Effect of no longer stocking an item

Background
For each FBM where a replacement is defined, the replacement can be performed with a stocked item or a non-stocked item. No longer using a stocked item is done removing the tick mark in the Stocked value of the FBM, and, optionally by removing the link to the stock part in the FBM.
When a stocked item is no longer used, then Asset Strategy Optimization will return to the value set in parameter Delivery time, and will add that value to the downtime of the component, which will influence the criticality.
When to stop stocking an item
What would be a reason for refraining from stocking an item? If the reason for stocking the item in the first place was to reduce criticality, then a reason for refraining from stocking could be when it turns out that stocking has no sufficient effect on criticality to move it to an acceptable level.
This is where the Stock Analysis screen may help.

Stock Analysis screen showing already stocked items
In the example above, all four rows already contain stocked items (first column all cells selected). To analyze the situation above, look at the second row. This row is not critical, while the item is stocked. The new situation (by default the tick boxes are empty) indicates a situation without stocking. This currently means that the downtime would go up to > 2 hours, while it would become critical. (Row 3 shows a similar situation).
Row four indicates that with a stocked item, the downtime is already more than 2 hours. Not stocking the item would not make a difference on the downtime of the item. So here we have a situation where stocking actually has no effect on criticality based on downtime. So here we have a candidate for no longer stocking the item.
Stock regime changed
Note that in column Stock regime changed all tick boxes are ticked. This is because in our example all items are already stocked, and the new situation is by default not stocked. So this implies a change in the stock regime, hence the tick marks in the fields. Only when the Stocked columns in both the Current Situation and the New Situation are identical will the Stock regime changed tick box be unchecked.
