In order to use audit trail logging the module needs to be activated first in the Options screen of Asset Strategy Optimization. The activation of the audit trail can only be done by a user with administrator rights within the Asset Strategy Optimization software. By using the authorization option in combination with audit trail logging it is possible to acquire detailed information which user has been responsible for certain changes in FMECA data. If the authorization option is not turned on, all of the changes will be placed under the 'Administrator' role automatically.
Follow the steps below to activate audit trail logging:
-
Go to the options window from menu: Extra > Options > System Options
-
Select tab Authorization configuration
-
Select the checkbox next to Audit trail active as shown in the example below and click on Apply and Close at the bottom of the window.

-
After this has been done you will have to close the screen and restart the Asset Strategy Optimization application
After the Audit trail has been activated all of the FMECA changes will be stored, including the activation/deactivation of the audit trail and logging in and out of users. Read Using the Audit Trail to see how you can check the changes that have been made to FMECA data.
Note: Audit Trail starts being active after restarting the Asset Strategy Optimization software!
