Configure the roles

The web application of Asset Strategy Optimization relies on server roles that need to be configured first. This section describes the steps.

To create roles and features

1. In Server Manager under Configure this local server in the Quick Start section choose option 2: Add roles and features. This will start the wizard to add roles and features to your server.
   
   

2. In the Before you begin page click Next.
   

3. In the Select Installation type screen choose the Role-based or feature-based installation option.
   

4. Select your Destination server and click Next.
   

5. In the Select server roles screen check the option Web Server IIS and click Next. Make sure to select the items listed below. Then, click Next. The wizard may suggest adding additional features, click Add Features to continue.
   

6. Choose the following settings:

   • World Wide Web Services

   • Application Development Features

   • .NET Extensibility 3.5

   • .NET Extensibility 4.8

   • Application Initialization

   • ASP

   • ASP.NET 3.5

   • ASP.NET 4.8

   • ISAPI Extensions

   • ISAPI Filters

   • Server Side Includes

   • WebSocket Protocol

7. In the Features dialog, click Next

8. In the Confirm installation selections page, click Install. The server may need to reboot after installation of the rules has completed
   

9. After installing all the roles, close the wizard by clicking the Close button.
