Ultimo interface - Introduction

The Ultimo interface links Asset Strategy Optimization to your Ultimo EAM, using the existing Ultimo Web services.

This interface supports the following services:

• Configuration of the interface

• Importing assets from Ultimo

• Update criticality in Ultimo from Asset Strategy Optimization

• Look at live asset details from Ultimo in Asset Strategy Optimization

• Export failure causes

• Export maintenance tasks

Configuration of the interface

To use Asset Strategy Optimization with your Ultimo environment, follow these steps:

1. Open the menu Interfaces > Ultimo > Configuration.

2. Fill in the following values:
   
   

   • Service URI: The URL to your Ultimo Web services.

   • User name: The user name that has been configured for the Ultimo Web services.

   • Password: The password that has been configured for the Ultimo Web services.

3. Click the OK to save the configuration settings.

Importing assets

To import assets from Ultimo into Asset Strategy Optimization, follow these steps:

4. Open menu Interfaces > Ultimo > Import assets to start the import wizard.

5. In the wizard, select the asset type that you wish to import and enter the Ultimo identifier code.
   

6. Click Next to start the import.

7. Asset Strategy Optimization will now contact the Ultimo server and will show the progress of the import. If you are establishing the link for the first time, it may take a while for the Ultimo interface to respond. As soon as the link is established, all the equipments to be imported will appear on the screen.
   

8. Click Run import to start the actual import.

9. When all data is imported, the Asset Strategy Optimization displays a success message. Click Finish to see the results of the import in the FMECA tree.
   

Update criticality in Ultimo

This option works with Process functions and the Equipments that were imported from Ultimo.

To update the criticality assessed in Asset Strategy Optimization to Ultimo, perform the following steps:

10. Open menu Interfaces > Ultimo > Update criticality in Ultimo.

    A dialog appears, displaying the assets that are eligible for the update.
    

11. Click Run export to start the update of criticality.

    When finished, a dialog appears, displaying the result of the export action.
    

12. Verify the results to ensure that the results in the Skip or Update sections are correct.

Request live asset details from Ultimo

To see possible changes or more details about an asset imported from Ultimo, it is possible to use the option Request live asset details from Ultimo.

To display asset details from Ultimo in Asset Strategy Optimization, follow these steps:

13. Select the asset for which you want to see live details from in the FMECA screen.

14. Open menu Interfaces > Ultimo > Request live asset details from Ultimo.

    A dialog appears, displaying the asset details.
    

15. Select the hyperlink in View details in Ultimo to open the asset in Ultimo.

16. Select to close the dialog.

Export Failure causes

This option allows you to export your failure causes to Ultimo. Failure causes are created in Asset Strategy Optimization to define in what way and under what circumstance(s) a component can fail.

To display asset details from Ultimo in Asset Strategy Optimization, follow these steps:

17. Open menu Interfaces > Ultimo > Export failure causes to start the wizard.
    

18. Click Next to continue the wizard.

    A window appears, displaying the list of all failure causes with details.
    

19. Select the check boxes in column Part Origin Type for the failure causes that you wish to export to your Ultimo environment.

20. Click Export to Ultimo to make Asset Strategy Optimization connect with Ultimo and send the selected failure causes to Ultimo.

    The Result column will be completed with results from the action. You will see the following results:

    • Inserted: If the failure causes are successfully added to Ultimo.

    • Already exist: If the failure causes already exist in Ultimo.

    Note: Failure causes are never updated.

Export of Maintenance

You can export the preventive maintenance to Ultimo by using the interface.

To export maintenance tasks to Ultimo from Asset Strategy Optimization, follow these steps:

21. To start the export wizard, select Interfaces > Ultimo > Export of maintenance.

    The export wizard appears, displaying the list of preventive maintenance actions that are selected for the export.
    

22. If you want to exclude one or more maintenance actions from the export, clear the checkbox provided for the preventive maintenance actions.

23. Select Export to Ultimo to send the selected preventive maintenance actions to Ultimo. When the export is complete, the Result column will display the value Inserted for new maintenance actions or Updated for existing maintenance actions.

24. Click Finish to close the wizard

Note: Ultimo can only work with Day units regarding maintenance. Asset Strategy Optimization doesn’t support Days as a valid unit, so your units are converted into days. The Interval Unit-field displays a ‘d’ to remind you of this.
