Recommendations

Below each spare part the recommendations shows the following:

  • Average stock costs

This is the average amount per year it costs to keep the spare part in stock.

Average stock costs = average stock * stock costs

    Average stock = order point - (delivery period/total MTTF) + (order quantity/2)

The total MTTF represents the sum of the MTTF of failures of the linked maintenance actions, assuming that failures occur in a consistent manner.

  • Difference based on average costs

This is the difference in costs between keeping the spare part in stock and not keeping it in stock.

Difference of average costs = production loss - stock costs

  • Recommendation based on downtime

This recommendation indicates whether keeping the spare part in stock influences the downtime. If there is downtime, the recommendation will be positive.

  • Recommendation based on costs

This recommendation indicates whether it is profitable to keep a spare part in stock
