CrudeSync

CrudeSync is a database synchronisation service. Using CrudeSync, you can connect to your CrudeSync data provider to receive and post updates to licensed and custom crude oil data shares. Two types of service are available:

• Standard database updating: The standard database updating service enables you to connect to the AVEVA CrudeSync data provider used to receive updates to your licensed crude oil data shares. This is the default level of service provided by Assay.

• Subscription-based database updating: Subscription-based database updating services allow you to receive and post updates to your custom crude oil databases from your CrudeSync data provider. Subscription-based services are not enabled by default, but need to be licensed independently from AVEVA.

Each CrudeSync user is given permission to perform different actions with their CrudeSync data share. Depending on your permission you can add to, modify or remove entries in your data share. The actions you are allowed to perform are assigned by your administrator for AVEVA products. To change the actions you can perform please contact your administrator for AVEVA products.

Access to the CrudeSync data provider is usually over an AVEVA Connect connection. Each AVEVA Connect session lasts for a limited period of time, so if you leave the connection open for an extended period, you will need to sign in again. You will be prompted to sign in if necessary.

You can only perform actions on your licensed data shares. You cannot add to, modify or remove entries on data shares for which you do not have the proper licence. If CrudeSync will not allow you to add, modify or remove entries it is because the entry is present on a data share to which you do not have the correct licence or permission. When you use a feature in Assay that requires a CrudeSync connection, Assay now tells you if there are updates waiting to be synchronised and provides a button so you can get those updates immediately.
