Create planning tool report templates from data

The planning template editor allows you to manage the complexity of creating and editing planning tool templates in the product. The editor allows you to configure a new planning tool report template, or modify existing templates. You configure the template by moving between the tabs included in the editor. Each tab allows you to configure a different part of the template so the product can produce a planning tool report matching your requirements.

If you wish to use an existing set of assay data to define your system select Create from at the first stage of planning template wizard. You must also select the type of assay data to create the template from; to create a template based on a PIMS assay table select PIMS Assay Table from the Input Type menu. To create a template based on RPMS data select RPMS Assay Table from the Input Type menu. See Create a new planning tool report template.

Select the type of data you wish to define your system by choosing the data type from the Input Type combo box. Select the file which contains the data by clicking on the Icon Select. Displayed as three dots (ellipsis) to indicate that a selection dialog opens when this is clicked button:

  1. Select the file you wish to use and if necessary select the name of the sheet containing the data

    Select the file which contains the PIMS data you wish to use to define your template. If the file contains more than one worksheet use the Sheet Name combobox to select the appropriate data. Click Open to load the file.

  2. Check for template creation error

    As the cut map or assay table is imported a dialog shows the progress in creating the template and provides information about the cuts and properties. Review the information and click Next > to review the cut points contained in the PIMS file.

  3. Configure the cut type, name and cut points for each stream

    For each cut in the file check the type of stream using the drop-down menu in Type column. Double-click the stream type and select the correct type from the drop-down menu. If required edit the tag, name and cut points by double-clicking the entry and entering the new value. When you have completed editing the imported cuts click Finish. Then click Edit to start the template editor. The stream types and cut points must be correctly defined before you can click Finish and open the PIMS template editor.

The template editor shows all the information imported from the PIMS file. Use the tabs at the top of the editor to move between the different sections of the PIMS template. Any errors in the template will be shown in the information area. Check that the correct cut points are imported for each stream in the Cuts tab, and check the imported properties and their units in the Properties tab.
