To insert a row or a column, right-click on a cell and choose Insert Row or Insert Column from the context menu. The new row or column will be inserted before the selected row or column.

To insert multiple rows or columns into the measurement grid:

  • To insert multiple rows: Select a number of rows and right-click to open the context menu. Select Insert row to insert the same number of new rows into the grid as you selected.

  • To insert multiple columns: Select a number of columns and right-click to open the context menu. Select Insert column to insert the same number of new columns into the grid as you selected.

To clear a row or a column, right-click on a cell and choose Clear Row or Clear Column from the context menu.

To delete a row or a column, right-click on a cell and choose Delete Row or Delete Column from the context menu.

To resize a row of column, place the mouse pointer on the boundary of a header cell of the row or column. A double arrowed pointer Icon resize icon. Two vertical bars, each with a horizontal arrow that points away from the other bar, representing a pulling apart indicates that you may click and drag the boundary to a new point, changing the height or width as required.

Cursor resize. Left/right double headed arrow when over a column boundary in the header row.

The proportions of any columns or rows that you resize are remembered by Assay, so that the next time you use this particular assay in a document your custom settings of row and column sizes are retained. This extends also to the resizing of blank rows and columns, as well as to properties.

To restore your custom row and column sizes to their original settings, right-click on the measurement grid and select Reset Widths and Heights from the context menu.

To configure the headers of rows and columns, right-click on a header cell and select options from the Header Rows and Header Columns submenus, as shown by the following figure.

Right-click on a header cell and select options from the submenus shown in this screenshot

To activate or deactivate multiple measurements at the same time, right-click a column or row header cell and choose one of these options from the context menu:

  • Enable Column/Row Measurements - activates all the measurements in the selected column or row ensuring the values are used during generation.

  • Disable Column/Row Measurements - deactivates all the measurements in the selected column or row ensuring the values are ignored during generation.

You can also select or clear the check box next to the name of the row or column.
