Worked example: Sort the crudes in the database view, according to their sulphur content.

  1. Display sulphur as a property

Ensure that the Database is open by clicking Database in the Navigator pane.

Main Assay screen with database open in the navigator pane

To quickly display the Sulphur (or other property such as Vanadium or Nickel) properties for whole crudes, select Advanced from the Views combo box.

Main Assay screen with View tab, View dropdown Advanced menu option selected

Alternatively, add a new column for Sulphur (Total) and cut Crude (IBP)-(FBP) to display sulphur as a property in the database view. See Configure your database views.

  2. Sort the crudes by sulphur content

Move the cursor to the column header of the Sulphur column and click the left mouse button.

Main Assay screen with cursor on column heading Sulphur

The crudes are sorted in ascending order by sulphur content. That is the crude with the lowest sulphur content is first followed by all the crudes in ascending sulphur content.

Tip: To reverse the sort order, click the header for the sulphur column again.
