Crude comparison report

The crude comparison report enables fitted (generated) values for a crude in the database to be easily compared against fitted (generated) values for a second crude in the database. If you have the Crude Comparison Report (3 Crude) option, a third recommended assay must also be included in the reporr. See Report export.

To produce a crude comparison report either:

  • Select Crude Comparison Report or Crude Comparison Report (3 Crude) from the Reports group of the Reporting ribbon tab, or

  • Right-click a crude and select Export → Crude Comparison Report or Crude Comparison Report (3 Crude)

The Select Crudes for Report... dialog is used to choose the crudes for reporting. Click the button to open the Select a Crude dialog and select the required crude from the list of available assays.

The crude comparison report is exported as a Microsoft Excel (.xls) file. The new Crude is compared separately to both the Previous Crude and the Recommended Crude. Results for the two comparisons are shown on separate worksheets within the Excel workbook. Properties are displayed vertically in the worksheet and a set of standard streams is displayed horizontally.

For each combination of cut and property in the report the worksheet displays fitted values for the both the New assay and the comparison assay, as well as the difference between the two results. The difference between the fitted value for a cut/property combination is highlighted if it is outside the allowed tolerance for that combination. This is described in the following table:

Fitted values for one or both yields are < 0.2% by volume.

Inactive measurements are output in grey, and in this case the difference values of inactive measurements are not highlighted if they are outside normal allowed measurement uncertainties.
