Enter data into the measurement grid

To enter measurement data for the product or for fractions of the product, select the Measurements page in the document. See Output grid.

The measurement data contained in the assay needs to be entered into the AssayEditor measurement grid. The measurement grid provides a powerful, spreadsheet-like interface for the entry of crude oil assay data. The grid can be configured to show either properties as rows and streams as columns, or vice versa, and values can be typed or pasted into appropriate cells.

Each cell in the grid is defined by two headers: a property header and a stream header. The property header consists of the name of the property and the unit in which it is measured, while the stream header consists of the name of the stream and the initial and final boiling points for the stream. To enter your assay data into the measurement grid, you need to configure the property and stream headers of the grid to match the properties and streams given in the assay. By default, the AssayEditor measurement grid includes three properties (density, yield and total Sulphur) and the standard cuts defined in the Preferences dialog. It is necessary to modify this pre-defined collection of properties and streams, to reflect the content of your crude assay. See Preferences.

To remove all contents from the measurement grid, click anywhere in the grid and press Ctrl + A to select all the cells. Then press the Delete key.

The values in the bottom right corner of each cell are those of the base crude.

Tip: To make more space for the grid, you can hide the graph view. Click the Graphs button in the Graphing group of the Home ribbon tab to toggle the visibility of the graph.
