Flowsheet based database views

It is possible to configure columns in the database to show recut property values based on a flowsheet stream rather than a perfect cut. Columns showing the property value for a flowsheet stream are set up in a similar manner to columns containing recut values for perfect streams. If using flowsheet cutting, when a stream is recut the product will take into account the overlap between different products when calculating the recut property value.

  1. Configure the database view

Main Menu Home > Views > Dropdown > Configure Views

To configure a column in the Database make sure the Database is visible by clicking its tab in the Document Navigator. Configure the Database View by either right-clicking the Database View Header and selecting Configure Views from the context menu, or by clicking in the View menu in the View group of the Home ribbon tab.

  2. Add a flowsheet cut to the current view

Configure Views > Showing a Den@15C(g/cc) and how it is defined as a Flowsheet Cut

To show a recut property value for a stream you must add a column to the Database view selecting Flowsheet Cut as the Field type, and selecting the required property and stream using the relevant text boxes.

Add a new column to the current view by clicking the Add Column icon in the Configure Views dialog. From the Field menu select Flowsheet Cut. Use the Property menu to select the property you wish to recut. From the left-hand drop-down menu of the Stream control, choose one of the flowsheets previously defined using the Flowsheet Manager. Then select one of the flowsheet streams from the right-hand drop-down menu.

To configure a flowsheet cut field, you need to supply four parameters, as described below.

    Parameter

    Description

    Example

    Property

The property chosen using a property control. Use the first part of the control to choose the property from a list. Use the remaining parts of the control, if these exist, to configure additional editable parameters of the property.

    Sulphur (Total)

    Stream

The product for which you wish to display cut values. The Stream control includes two drop-down menus. Use the left-hand menu to choose one of the flowsheets configured using the Flowsheet Manager. Once you do so, the right-hand menu populates with all the products defined for that flowsheet. Choose the desired product.

Distillation System->Diesel (assuming the existence of a flowsheet called Distillation System)

    Unit

The unit of measurement in which calculated values are reported. Any unit supported by the chosen property may be selected from the Unit combo box. For a list of commonly occurring properties and their associated units, see the Appendix. See Units.

    %

    Format

The number format in which calculated values are reported. Calculated values may be shown in any one of a number of numerical formats, including a fixed number of decimal places, a fixed number of significant figures, or scientific notation. For a full list of available format options, see the Appendix. See Formats.
