Define the product

Use the Product page to define the fluid type and distillation profile of the product being synthesised.

First you must define the fluid type for the product being worked up. The fluid type describes the nature of the product and helps outline the boiling point range of the product. Choose an option from the Fluid Type list. Each option is listed in the table below. The exact type of fluid needs only be defined in one of these broad categories, Condensate, Distillate, AtRes or VacRes:

Next you must provide a description of the product, which you can do in two ways. Click either the Define product by cut points option button or the Define product by distillation one.

If you choose to define the product by cut points, different options are available according to the fluid type you have chosen:

• For a Condensate, you can enter the final cut point and the efficiency.

• For a Distillate, you can enter both cut points and efficiencies.

• For a AtRes, you can enter the initial cut point and the efficiency.

• For a VacRes, you can enter the initial cut point and the efficiency.

  

If you choose to define the product via a distillation profile, click the arrow icon in the top cell of the right-hand column to choose one of the following:

• ASTM D1160 (vol) boiling point

• ASTM D86 (vol) boiling point

• SIMDIS

• True boiling point (wgt)

• True boiling point (vol)

Click and type in table cells to enter percentages and temperatures. To change the temperature unit, click the arrow icon in the unit cell (second from the top in the right-hand column) and choose one of the options.
