Configure the graph axes

You can configure the X and Y axes of the graph via the controls below the graph itself.

The X axis can display the boiling point or the cumulative yield (by weight or volume) of the displayed crudes.

There are two Y axes available: a left Y axis (labelled LY Axis) and a right Y axis (labelled RY Axis). The Y axes can display a full range of properties. You can remove the property profile corresponding to either Y axis by clearing the check box next to the LY Axis or RY Axis property drop-down list.

You can configure the two Y axes to have the same scaling by right-clicking on the graph and selecting Use Single Y Axis Range from the context menu. This option will not be enabled if the two axes show properties with different units of measurement.

When both Y axes are displayed, it is sometimes necessary (for example, when using the cross hairs tool) to select one active Y axis. You can do so in any of the following ways:

  • Click the axes selection buttons Icon make left axis active. Shows graph with bold left axis and Icon make right axis active. Shows graph with bold right axis.

  • Use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+[ and Ctrl+].

  • Click the desired axis outside the graphed area.

Grouped property controls

List of pre-configured grouped property controls.

The product supports a pre-configured range of grouped property controls, such as Pour Point, Cloud Point and Freeze Point or PNA (Paraffins, Naphthenes and Aromatics). You can display multiple curves on the graph for any such group of properties by selecting the appropriate grouped property combination from the relevant LY axis or RY axis property control. The property names for each of the multiple curves on the graph are displayed in the graph legend accordingly. See Graph legend.

In addition to the pre-selected range of grouped property combinations, you also have the ability to create your own custom property combinations using the graph property manager. Custom property combinations created using the graph property manager appear as grouped property controls on the graph and behave in exactly the same way as the available pre-configured grouped property controls.
