Check for updates

Once you have successfully established a connection to CrudeSync, you can check for available updates to your crude assay libraries.

Select Check for Updates from the CrudeSync group of the Enterprise ribbon tab. The CrudeSync update dialog opens. The CrudeSync update dialog displays a list of updates available for your crude assay libraries, including AVEVA reference data updates. If no updates are available, click the Close button to return to the application workspace.

Click the Update button. Updates to your crude assay libraries are downloaded to your computer.

Click Close to close the CrudeSync update dialog. The downloaded updates are available for immediate use.
Tip: To automatically close the dialog when downloading has completed, select the Automatically close when update complete check box.
The current status of the CrudeSync update mechanism is indicated in the bottom left hand corner of the CrudeSync Update dialog. To view further details about your CrudeSync status, including database update and network connectivity information, click the Show Details button located at the bottom right of the dialog.
A CONNECT session times out after a number of hours. If you try to use any Assay feature that requires a connection to CrudeSync, then the connection is tested, and if you need to sign in again, the AVEVA Connect sign in dialog box will be displayed.
After signing in, you many need to restart Assay in order to complete synchronisation. For example, if permission to use a particular share have been changed, the product needs to be restarted to show the permitted shares. You will see a message like this:
