Planning Template Wizard, Flowsheet Tab. The Flowsheet tab summarises the flowsheets parameters - the flowsheet used to define the cut points can be selected

If you choose to use a flowsheet to define your system when initially creating your planning tool report template another tab appears at the top of the template editor. The Flowsheet tab summarises the information obtained from the flowsheet which defines the cut points of the product streams and the fractionation indices defining the efficiency of the distillation. You cannot edit the flowsheet's parameters at this stage - flowsheets can only be edited in the Flowsheet Manager. See Create a flowsheet.

In the first step of creating a planning tool report template based on a flowsheet you must choose a predefined flowsheet from the list of available flowsheets. This defines the cut points in the planning tool report template based on it. The Flowsheet tab allows you to change the flowsheet used to define the streams in the planning tool report template. Using the Flowsheet menu in the tab it is possible to select a different flowsheet with different cut points to define an alternative set of streams for use in the planning tool report template. This will replace all the streams in the current template with the streams in the other flowsheet. The flowsheet which is used for replacement must have an identical topology to the original flowsheet used to define the template. That is the new flowsheet must have the same number of columns and the same number of streams in each column.

When changing the flowsheet it may be desirable to create a copy of the template in the planning template manager before changing the flowsheet. This will leave the original template unchanged but allow you to modify the other sections of the new template as required.

If you base a planning tool report template on a flowsheet all the stream in the flowsheet must be active. On the Cuts tab of the template editor it is possible to edit the stream type, but every stream is active and the cut points cannot be edited. By default a deferred stream for the whole crude (IBP-FBP) is added to the cuts in the template.
